6. List of Volunteer Needs
1. Mustang Store – (11/06 & 11/07)
Our “store” is all about celebrating our young Mustangs: their hard work and acts of kindness don’t go unnoticed or unrewarded! Students earn Mustang PRIDE Slips for going above and beyond for their fellow students and our community. Being kind, picking up trash, and helping others are some of the ways students can get Mustang PRIDE Slips from school staff and key PTA volunteers. A few times a year, the PTA opens the Mustang Store. This is a time when students can bring their PRIDE Slips to be exchanged for fun prizes of their choosing.
Students, remember to bring those well-earned Mustang PRIDE Slips because it's time to cash them in for some awesome prizes that'll make your smile beam from cheek to cheek. From fun trinkets to must-have gadgets, our treasure trove of rewards has something for everyone. Your teachers will sign up for times to bring the entire class.
We are looking for volunteers to help with a few specific time slots – to help children count their Mustang PRIDE Slips or to pick out the prizes they just can’t live without. It’s a fun time with other great volunteers, and the smiles from the kids are priceless. Sign up here:

2. Thanksgiving Break (11/20-11/24)
As the autumn leaves blanket the ground in vibrant hues, the joyous anticipation of Thanksgiving break fills the hearts of children across Sulphur Springs. With school doors swinging open and freedom beckoning, kids burst out with unbridled enthusiasm, ready to embark on a delightful week of family gatherings, laughter, and gratitude. Whether they're eagerly preparing to help in the kitchen, crafting handmade decorations, or simply relishing the opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones, Thanksgiving break signifies a moment of respite and connection, offering children the chance to savor the comforting embrace of home and the promise of delicious feasts to come.
We hope that you have a wonderful week off spending time together.
3. Recycling Days – On Hold
We’ve received communications from families curious when we will have our next recycling drop off. We are anxious to schedule another one, however we do not have a chair for this program nor volunteers signed up to help manage one, or many, drop off day(s) from gathering the bags at drop off, handing out Mustang Pride slips, providing oversight to our amazing student volunteers who sort the items, taking those sorted items to the recycling center behind Dunkin Donuts on Sierra Highway, and then dropping off the cash collected into our PTA Lockbox in the front office. We have regular volunteers who will jump in to help on the day of, so you get to set the day, the frequency, etc. based on your availability. If you are interested in leading this PTA program, please reach out to President Jessica Coleman (President@sspta.org). We would love to have your help!
