- Mustang Roundup (10/07) Buy Your Tickets Now! Sign Up to Volunteer!
Our biggest fundraiser is scheduled in (2) short weeks. The money raised at Mustang Roundup allows us to fund the majority of our programs for the school year – schoolwide assemblies, arts instruction, an introduction to Spanish, support materials for teachers and students (like MakerSpace, ReflexMath, classroom enrichment, and more), Game Room, fun family events, and books for our library. (If you would like to know more about what the Sulphur Springs PTA does for our school, please check out: https://www.sspta.org/pages/about-us)
Buy your tickets for this adults-only event now ($70/ per person)! Tickets must be pre-purchased before October 2. There will be no tickets available at the door, so buy your tickets NOW. https://www.sspta.org/collections/events/products/mustang-roundup-october-7-2023. Invite your friends, family members, etc. The more the merrier.
Mustang Roundup is a fun night out with other adults – mouthwatering BBQ, some awesome people to spend time with, and most importantly for the best cause….our children. We have a silent auction and a live auction planned, with tons of amazing items to bid on: trips to near and faraway places, art created by YOUR student, gift baskets cultivated by each class (think Lego, sports, pets, spa day, Disney, and more!), plus gorgeous jewelry, gift certificates to local restaurants, outings to museums or concerts in LA—we could go on and on…Keep an eye out for the preview flyers coming home each week. Check out the pictures this week in ParentSquare media files, the PTA website, and SSPTA social media for a glimpse at the student’s art projects. They had a blast with PTA volunteers working on them during their recess and lunch periods. They are absolutely amazing! Get your hands on one during the silent auction, it’s guaranteed to be an amazing addition to your art collection!
We are still in need of many volunteers to set up the day of the event, and to help during the event with raffles, auctions, wine/liquor pull, event assistant to our Master of Ceremonies, check in, and cleanup. You can sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0D48ACA723A2FE3-2023, or you can reach out to our event chairs to communicate your interest and availability. Any amount of time you can give October 6 through October 8 will be very much appreciated!
This is the last week to get your classroom basket donations sent in. There are so many cool baskets that we have already started receiving, that will go like hotcakes! Donation items can be sent in with your student Attn: Room Parent(s), or you can drop it in the front office Attn: SSPTA Mustang Roundup and include the teacher’s name. Items are due no later than Thursday, September 28. We – and the kids – appreciate whatever you can contribute!

We hope to see you on Saturday, October 7, from 6PM to 10PM, at River’s End Pub in Canyon Country. It will be a fabulous time for an incredible purpose—helping our kids! Bring your checkbook or credit card and loosen your purse strings… this one is for the children.
- Recycling
The recycling event scheduled for September 22 was canceled, as we did not have enough volunteers for it. We are still seeking volunteers to chair and help support our recycling events. If you are interested, please reach out to VP of Programs, Victoria Skornia (victoria.skornia@gmail.com). We hope to be back in October, if we can find enough volunteers, so keep saving those CRV cans and bottles, shoes, and crayons.
- SSPTA Room Parent Assignments
We are still looking for room parents for these classrooms: Ms. Baker, Mrs. De Los Reyes, and Mrs. McLaughlin/Ms. Frez. If you are interested in helping with any of these classes, please reach out to our room parent coordinator, Jennifer Salinas at jennifermsalinas@gmail.com.
- 6th Grade Students
If you were unable to attend the September 5 meeting and you have not received a follow-up email from Karen Fidaleo, Jeanette James, or Jessica Coleman, please email Karen Fidaleo (kfidaleo@gmail.com) for the update. The 6th grade committee is seeking volunteers to help sell concessions at Trunk or Treat. Funds raised will go towards class t-shirts, an end of the year party, and promotion ceremony festivities. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to our chair, Jeanette James at (mrsjdjames@yahoo.com).
- Multicultural Fair
Our multicultural affair is a celebration of the rich tapestry of nations that make up our global community. It's an opportunity to embrace the diversity that defines us and connect with people from every corner of the globe. We're inviting passionate individuals to volunteer and become ambassadors, representing their own country with pride. Whether you want to share your heritage, exchange traditions, or simply foster understanding, this is your chance to be a bridge-builder in a world that needs connection. Join us in this extraordinary journey of cultural exchange and make a difference on a global scale. Planned for March 22, 2023, during school. Students will visit each country (table) to learn, engage in activities, and listen to stories. If you would like to volunteer for this amazing event, please contact our chair, Daynabelle Anderson at daynabelle@gmail.com.
- Career Day
There has been interest expressed in having a career day this year. If you are interested in obtaining more information regarding this event or if you would like to volunteer to share your career with the students, please contact our chair, Jeanette James at mrsjdjames@yahoo.com.
- Yearbook Photos
The Sulphur Springs Yearbook Committee is seeking your photos! Please send photos of your kids dressed for special events or greeting friends at school. (Please keep in mind that each person in the photo must provide approval for their photo to be released for printing.) We will be collecting pictures through April 5th, so please continue to send them all year long. Submit all photos to ss.yearbook.pics@gmail.com.
